After living in Waterloo for 38 years, I moved to Vancouver in 2014. The natural beauty of this area inspired me to take photos using my cell phone. The positive responses from family and friends prompted me to join a number of photography-based Facebook groups. It was an honour to have many of my submitted photos selected as banners and “photos of the day”. In December I moved to a DSLR camera and my passion for photography exploded! To further showcase my craft, I started to produce blank photo cards which feature florals, landscapes and macro photography. I now participate in juried craft shows selling my blank 5 x 7 greeting cards and photo enlargements . My cards have also been sold at Waterloo's Button Factory and Hespeler Villlage’s One Sixty One Artisan Market & Whistling Gardens Botanic Gardens in Wilsonville. My enlargements have been showcased at Pyrus Café in Kitchener and Aroma Cafe in Waterloo. In October, 2019 my enlargements will be on display at the Princess Theatre in Waterloo. Two of my pieces were selected for a juried show at the University of Waterloo’s Art in the Library Exhibit “Begin*”. In December, 10 of my pieces will be on display at UW’s University Club. I am a member of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art [CAPA] and the Grand River Imaging & Photographic Society [GRIPS]. I’ve participated in a number of Canadian and American flower photography workshops. I was recently honoured to have 3 of my pieces accepted for display at Kitchener’s Art District Gallery juried show.
