Call to entry for Selections 2023 KWSA Juried Exhibition

We're excited to announce that the Kitchener-Waterloo Society of Artists (KWSA), in collaboration with The Link at Waterloo Innovation Park is announcing the 2023 Juried Exhibition!

This show is open to all members in good standing of the KWSA.

• $25 - One entry
• $35 - Two entries
• $50 - Three entries

* Entry fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance to the show. 

Our Juror: Sherrill Girard

Sherrill Girard CSPWC, is a visual artist and instructor, working in the mediums of watercolour, mixed media, and photography. Her vivid, luminous watercolours grace homes and galleries around the world. Her work has garnered many awards and has been featured in many publications.

Sherrill has participated in numerous juried, group and solo shows, both national and international, and has a long career teaching classes, workshops, and demonstrations, speaking and jurying for groups in Quebec, Ontario, and Japan.

How to participate & submission requirements

Steps 1 - 3 must be completed by November 26th (December 1st?)

Step 1 - Complete the application form

• Complete the online form with Artist and Artwork information.

Step 2 - Submit payment

• Send payment by etransfer* to: KWSAMembership@gmail.com

* etransfer is preferred however, If necessary, a cheque (made payable to KWSA) can be sent to: Nahide Sen, #610-225 Old Carriage Drive, Kitchener N2P 1H5. (Cash and postdated cheques will not be accepted.)

Step 3 - Submit your digital images to be juried

• Images should be a minimum of 1080 pixels on the shortest side
• Images should be sent to Carly Derderian at: carlyd@ctl-group.com

*No change to title, medium or price permitted after submission.

Step 4  - Drop off your artwork

• Work can be dropped off at the link gallery between 9am and 11am. 
• Jurying will take place between 11am and 12:30pm

Note: If your work isn't selected we'll contact you and and ask that your work be picked up between 1:30 and 2:30 that afternoon.

The Show

• ​ Digital images of accepted pieces will be shown on the Link’s online digital gallery.​

​Reception: December 7th (4:30 to 6:30pm)

• ​Volunteers will be required! Please indicate your interest and availability on the application form

​March 1st - Take Down

• We'll be taking the show down between 9am and 1pm. Please arrange to have your work picked up at this time.

Terms & Conditions

● Works must be the sole work of the artist and not shown in this gallery within the past 3 years.
● Works with religious connotations, nudity, or those deemed to be not socially acceptable will not be accepted by the Gallery in consideration of their tenants and clientele.
● The Juror and the Gallery will make the final decision of artworks included in the Exhibition
● Framed size limitation: no wider than 40” and must not be too heavy for one person to lift or carry.
● All works must be ready to be hung in a gallery setting with d-rings & wires – no saw tooth hooks.
● All sales are direct between the purchaser and the artist, no commissions. Artists must bring business cards,
one per piece of art + extras.
● The Gallery has a policy of property damage insurance against loss or damage for the insured value of the exhibit in its entirety. The individual artist should insure individual loaned items if appropriate.
