Drawing has always been my passion. At a young age I was always found with paper and pencil drawing whatever was in front of me. I studied fine arts at Goshen College, Goshen Indiana before transferring to University of Waterloo. I was fortunate enough to participate in a watercolour/art history course in Florence, Italy. Through the years I have continued to grow and develop watercolour in particular with various artist workshops and classes.
My preferred media currently is watercolour. I still enjoy my first love of drawing in pencil, charcoal, and ink. I thoroughly enjoy painting plein air – right out in the open garden, forest or by a lake. I have been working in watercolour for approximately ten years but feel I still have a lot to learn.
I have had my work accepted in Ontario Paints juried show and had the honour of selling a drawing. I enjoyed participating in the Bestival! in Belmont Village two summers before the pandemic and had good success selling cards and watercolours.
I have my watercolours printed on 5 x 7 blank cards and have sold very successfully at Timeless Café in Waterloo before covid took it and currently at Baden Coffee. I have a shop on Etsy and have been fortunate to sell my work there as well.
I have a Facebook and Instagram artist page and have had inquiries and sales through that as well.
My goal has been to share my art through social media and make it available to every day people without costing a small fortune. I encourage people to buy prints from my etsy.com shop and my blank cards are a reasonable price for giving or framing. I think art should be available to everyone.
