I'm Kathi Kelly and for over 20 years I've been creating art and exhibiting it at numerous shows and galleries in southwestern Ontario. During this time I've been honoured to have won various awards for my work.
Travel and life experiences are my usual inspirations, and I have frequently preserved these special times and memories in photography &/or in a variety of printmaking formats. Lately I have begun incorporating more mixed media into my art pieces. I love the spontaneity and the creativity of collaging, adding found objects and 'breaking the rules'. I enjoy producing this art and I want my audience to enjoy it and to appreciate the whimsy and humour that are often part of it.
In addition to numerous annual shows around the area, some of my art work and art cards are also displayed year round at the Button Factory Arts' Gift Shop in downtown Waterloo. Other examples of my art reside in homes across Canada and in 20 other countries including Cuba, where a Canadian ambassador "gifted" one of my rock construction sculptures to an infamous, former Cuban dictator on the occasion of his 80th birthday!
