I’m Jessi, an emerging artist, illustrator and printmaker from Ontario.
|
I’ve drawn my whole life and studied illustration at OCAD University (Toronto, ON) starting in 2018. Many years ago I contributed editorial illustrations to publications such as WLU’s The Cord, and more recently have been shown in galleries across the Waterloo area, like The Three Sisters Cultural Centre (St. Jacobs, ON).
I work with digital software (Photoshop, Illustrator) acrylic, watercolour, digital and analogue collage, linocut, ink, and pencil to create surreal, bizarre, dreamlike images that tell strange (or urgent) stories. Blurring the line between how fine art and illustration function fascinates me. I have an acute interest in constructing images that don’t yet exist, based on imagery and ideas that already do. I sell original works, prints, and accept commissions for custom work. I am a technical and flexible artist comfortable working in photorealistic, comic, historical, and abstract styles as per preference (contact if interested).
