Jan Fretz
Jan Fretz, founder of fleur de soleil gallery & studio, was born in Waterloo County.
She graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts (Studio Practice) with Distinction, specializing in both painting and print making. In her final year Jan received the Mayor of Waterloo Award and the Elizabeth Edwards Fine Arts Memorial Award. Jan’s work is exhibited in Canada and is collected internationally as far as Africa & Europe.
Jan has considerable experience teaching art to both children and adults in art programs at the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery, WCAC, Homer Watson Gallery, Elora Centre for the Arts, KWAG and “art spots” at the Seven Shores Café. She teaches ages 2-90 at ArtTWOgether.
