I cannot imagine not being able to paint. The world would not look the same to me. Watercolour presents a wonderful challenge with its luminosity and freshness. I value looseness, colour and excitement in my painting.
My subjects are expressed in a representational yet non-photographic manner, so that there is magic for the viewer.
I enjoy the challenge of portraiture, rather uncommon in the watercolour medium, and look forward to my summers on Georgian Bay where the northern landscape is there to paint. When I have had the opportunity to do book illustrations, it has brought me great pleasure.
