Tania Klimasko-Hoffman
Tania is an artist living in Maryhill who works in watercolour, acrylic and oil. After a fulfilling career at WRDSB teaching the arts (Music, Art, Dance, Drama), Tania continues to pursue her passion for creating art. She paints florals, landscapes and portraits and she loves to paint plein air in the Canadian North. Currently, she is exploring figurative abstraction. In her artwork, Tania strives to capture emotion; to capture a particular feeling in a moment in time. She paints intuitively, spontaneously and sensitively. Her work is infused with bright, bold colour in an impressionistic style.
Tania is a lifelong learner who has travelled and studied in many countries. Recently, she has traveled and painted in Italy, Spain, USA, Australia and New Zealand, Hawaii and Cuba. She has studied at the Florence Academy of Art, Loyalist College, Ringling College, Southampton Art school, La Cloche County Art School as well as DVSA, Cambridge Centre for the Arts, Wyndham Art School and Button factory. Tania has studied with many respected artists, including Jura Bedic, Charles Reid, Art Cunanan, Brian Smith, Anna Martin, Doug Mays, David Mc Eown and Hi Sook Barker.
Tania’s work has been shown in various juried shows. She was awarded the “Jane Champagne Award” for innovative and bold techniques at the Southampton Art Gallery for her acrylic painting ‘Elsinore Marsh in Blue” and second prize for “Aurora Borealis’ in the Refrigerator Exhibit at the Southampton Art School.
