Over the past 6 years I have been the owner/operator of my children’s art studio called Viewfinder Art Studio in New Hamburg. Unfortunately this past August 2020 we had to close our retail space of five years due to covid. I am currently working out of my home studio and teaching virtually through my studio, as well as a Children’s Art Instructor at Homer Watson House & Gallery.
I set out to break the stigma around art and it’s importance of being considered equal to every other extra curricular out there. It makes me smile knowing many Wilmot children have art as ‘their thing’, something I so badly needed when I was younger. Art is SO important for self awareness and expression.
While I am teaching, I am also establishing myself as a professional artist. I am focusing on building my own fine art portfolio with acrylic painting, photography and pottery. I enjoy shooting manual photography with my DSLR and turning these images into my own take of an acrylic painting and throwing on the wheel is one of the best stress relievers.
My acrylic paintings and photography can be viewed and purchased on my website www.viewfinderartstudio.com. My pottery can be best seen on my fine art instagram page, @viewfinder_fine_art and can be purchased through my studio, as well as One Sixty One Artisan Market in Cambridge and Baden Coffee Company.
