Catherine Anne Jackson
Anne is an artist and arts educator, originally from Toronto, now living in Kitchener-Waterloo. Painting in a style of lyrical abstraction with a focus on colour, she uses oil and cold wax medium with various other media including metallics, pastels, and drawing materials. Techniques include layering paint, colour glazing, printing, incising, and dissolving, to create visual texture and a sense of depth and luminosity. Colour and beauty, in the natural world, visual arts, literature, music, and dance, have always been fundamental sources of inspiration for Anne. She has studied oil and cold wax techniques with Janice Mason Steeves (Canada), Rebecca Crowell (USA), and Lisa Pressman (USA), as well as taking many, varied arts courses at the Haliburton School of Art and Design, and studying with various artists and art organizations in Canada and abroad. Her work has been shown in many exhibitions and juried shows.
