A sense of wonder about the beauty and mystery of life is the essence of my lyrical abstract oil painting.  I have always loved non-representational work because of the conversation that can take place between the painter and the painting, and ultimately between the viewer and the painting.  My hope is that viewers of my artwork will pause and be drawn into their own response and reflection.

Colour is the foundational element of my personal expression.  Finely gradated, subtly blended, luminous colours, applied with scrapers and large brushes, represent my appreciation of the richly layered experiences that make up the flow of life.  Contrasts of darkness and light, vibrant and greyed colour are used to reflect beauty, depth, and complexity.

With a life long love of colour and personal expression in various media, I have been immersed in oil painting in recent years.  My art education includes courses at the Haliburton School for the Arts, many workshops, individual mentorships, and much ongoing research and practice.  My paintings and other creative works have been shown in many exhibitions and juried shows, and have received awards.  I am honoured to have been elected as a member of the Colour and Form Society in 2020/21.
