Painting
Artist Statement My passion for art started at an early age. I still remember, as
if it were only yesterday, surprising my parents by winning a national
arts competition sponsored by the Shell Oil Company in my seventh grade.
When I am painting, time seems to stands still for me. I am at peace with the world. In a perfect world, I would paint all day long! In the real world, I am merely a part-time artist. I have maintained this part-time passion for some 40 years, taking evening and weekend art classes at community colleges and centres in Australia, the U. S. and now Canada. I have honed my skills in the specific areas of calligraphy and watercolours. I like to think that these efforts have come to fruition. While living in Calgary in the ‘80s, I taught beginners’ calligraphy at leisure centres. My watercolour paintings have been exhibited in various juried and non-juried shows in Kitchener-Waterloo, my present residence. My fellow artists have inspired me to strive unceasingly to improve my craft. I continue to learn from various noted art instructors that teach in the area. Perhaps someday I will achieve my envisioned perfect world, one in which I can afford the time to paint all day long! Contact Info:
