Artist Statement My art work shires on a different perspective of beauty when observing landscapes, cities and various eye dazzling folklore. I started contemplating the world from an artistic view 5 years ago, and since then, my art has received numerous recognitions and appraisal calling for its ingenuity and symbolization. Biography Laila shouckry was born in Egypt but spent much of her life in Dubai. She currently resides in Waterloo. She achieved her B.SC in Electrical Engineering. Later on, she completed courses in Arts and Crafts at the Women’s Association of the United Arab Emirates. She has a multitude of artistic talents in various sectors, including: oil painting, water color painting, graphic drawing, ceramic crafting, silk and glass painting, and glass etching. She participated in various exhibitions and events in Dubai and Canada. She has a proven ability to integrate message into art in a creative fashion through participation in the Ministry of Health Kidney Diseases Awareness Campaign. She is recently a member of Kitchener-Waterloo Society of Artists. She received award and official reception from Sharjah’s first woman. She is one of the top 5 finalists for the visual arts of the exhibit held at Cordoba House in Hamilton. She was also featured in the Talent Next Door book.
