Membership in the Kitchener Waterloo Society of Artists (KWSA) offers many benefits.
Support
The Society is a support network for artists of the region. We welcome
all levels from beginner to emerging to established, and provide a
forum for sharing, consulting, mentoring, and encouraging the
development of artistic endeavours.
Meetings
KWSA hosts monthly meetings with guest speakers and demonstrations. These meetings provide an excellent opportunity to network with both local and visiting artists. Meetings frequently feature topics concerned with the technical aspects of art, such as creation of a photographic portfolio.
KWSA normally meets at 7 pm on the first Tuesday of each month from September to May, at the Waterloo Community Arts Centre, 25 Regina St. South, Waterloo. Parking is available just across the street.
Exhibitions
We organize 3 or 4 shows each year, which allow our members to exhibit and sell their work in local galleries. These exhibitions are described in more detail in the Events section.
Bio-Book Photo Album
All members have the opportunity to have a page in each of our photo albums. One album is located at The Button Factory and the second album is located at the Homer Watson Gallery. You are able to showcase 2 photos of your artwork plus a brief statement helping people to understand your creative method. Located at the bottom of this page are the instructions on how to write your Bio and the template that you need to use for the actual bio-book pages. Just click the download link for each Word Doc.
Web Presence
KWSA has developed this Web site to help artists increase exposure of their work, and enhance their marketing, networking and sales. Links to other significant sites provide a convenient access point for local artistic resources. KWSA has also developed a Web page template, to allow artists to display their work via the KWSA web site for minimal costs. These member Web pages can be found in the artists section.
