I’m a painter in acrylics living in Waterloo who paints in order to fix on a board or canvas an appealing combination of forms in a scene, whether it’s a landscape, a cloudscape, a room in a house, or a street somewhere. I want to remember the scene and emphasize what drew me to it: its charm, beauty or uniqueness. I take liberties with colours and don’t always stick to a realistic palette. Most of my work has a peaceful tone. I look for subject matter that calms, soothes or enriches the spirit.
I’ve been a member of the KW Society of Artists for 15 years, have participated in many juried shows, and won awards for my work. I show in local galleries and take part in the Mary Allen Studio Tour which is an annual event in Uptown Waterloo at the end of September.
